Welcome to Craft Garage. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website craftgarage.co.za and any purchase you make from us. By placing an order or using our site, you agree to these Terms.
1. About Us
Craft Garage is a laser cutting and 3D printing studio based in South Africa, offering custom-made, personalised and standard products, along with bespoke design and manufacturing services.
2. Orders
- All orders placed through our website constitute an offer to purchase, which we may accept or decline at our discretion.
- Orders are only confirmed once payment has been received in full, in line with our Payment terms.
- Many of our products are made to order. Production only begins once your order is confirmed, and — for custom or personalised items — once you have approved the final design or proof where applicable.
- It is your responsibility to check all order details (including spelling, dimensions, dates and uploaded artwork) before submitting or approving your order. See our Returns & Refunds Policy for more on custom order accuracy.
3. Pricing
- All prices are listed in South African Rand (ZAR) are inclusive of VAT.
- We reserve the right to change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders already confirmed and paid for.
- Custom quotes are valid for 7 days from the date issued, unless stated otherwise.
4. Payment
- Full payment is required before production begins on any order, custom or standard.
- We accept payment via Payfast.
- We reserve the right to cancel an order if payment is not received within the required timeframe.
5. Production & Delivery
- Production and delivery timelines are set out in our Shipping & Delivery Policy.
- Estimated timeframes are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed, as they may be affected by factors outside our control (e.g. courier delays, material availability).
6. Custom Orders & Design Approval
- For bespoke or custom work, we will provide a quote and, where required, a digital proof for your approval before production begins.
- Once you approve a design proof, you are confirming that all details are correct. Craft Garage is not liable for errors that were present in an approved proof.
- Cancellation of custom orders is only possible before production has started. See our Cancellation Policy for details.
7. Returns, Refunds & Cancellations
Our approach to returns, refunds and cancellations — including the distinction between custom/personalised products and standard products — is set out in full in our Returns & Refunds Policy and Cancellation Policy.
8. Natural Material Variations
Many of our products are made from natural materials such as wood, cork, leather and bamboo. Variations in grain, knots, colour and texture are inherent to these materials and are not considered defects. Colours shown on screen may also differ slightly from the finished product due to display settings.
9. Intellectual Property
- All designs, content, images and branding on the Craft Garage website remain the intellectual property of Craft Garage unless otherwise stated.
- If you supply your own artwork or designs for a custom order, you confirm that you own the rights to that content or have permission to use it, and you indemnify Craft Garage against any third-party claims arising from its use.
- We may photograph completed orders for our portfolio, website or social media, unless you request otherwise in writing at the time of ordering.
10. Limitation of Liability
- To the extent permitted by law, Craft Garage’s liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the value of that order.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from delays, courier issues, or use of our products.
- Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Privacy
Your personal information is collected and used in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, why, and how it’s protected in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time you place an order will apply to that order. Continued use of our site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
